On behalf of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC), and in my capacity as IFCC President and Congress President and Co-Chair, it is my pleasure and great honor to warmly invite you to attend the 27th International Congress of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine – IFCC WorldLab New Delhi 2026, to be held from 25–29 October 2026 in New Delhi, India.
This prestigious international event, jointly organized by the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) and the Asia and Pacific Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (APFCB), is proudly hosted by the Association of Clinical Biochemists of India (ACBI).
WorldLab New Delhi 2026, to be held at the India International Convention & Expo Centre in Dwarka, New Delhi, will provide an exceptional setting for this important gathering of laboratory medicine professionals from around the world.
WorldLab has a long and distinguished tradition within our profession. It brings together clinical chemists, laboratory medicine specialists, scientists, physicians, healthcare professionals, educators, researchers, industry partners, young scientists, and colleagues from different regions, disciplines, and generations to share scientific knowledge, exchange experiences, discuss challenges, and build collaborations that extend far beyond the Congress itself.
The Scientific Program has been designed to reflect the rapidly evolving landscape of laboratory medicine. It brings together established scientific principles, emerging technologies, translational research, and new approaches to diagnostics and patient care.
During the Congress, we will have the opportunity to explore developments across clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine, including automation and digitalization, artificial intelligence, molecular diagnostics, genomics and other omics technologies, advanced biomarkers, point-of-care testing, precision medicine, and many other areas at the forefront of modern healthcare.
Laboratory medicine is undergoing an extraordinary transformation.
New technologies are expanding our capabilities and changing not only what laboratories can do, but also how laboratory information contributes to clinical decision-making. Innovation, however, must always remain focused on clinical value, quality, patient safety, and better patient care. This is also where the importance of international collaboration becomes increasingly clear.
The IFCC brings together laboratory medicine professionals and national societies from around the globe with a shared mission: to advance excellence in laboratory medicine for better healthcare worldwide.
Through education, scientific activities, standardization and harmonization, professional development, support for young scientists, and collaboration among our Member Societies, Corporate Members, and Regional Federations, IFCC works to strengthen laboratory medicine internationally and to ensure that scientific progress ultimately benefits patients everywhere.
I am therefore particularly pleased that ACBI is hosting WorldLab 2026 in New Delhi. This Congress provides an exceptional opportunity to highlight the scientific excellence of Indian laboratory medicine, strengthen connections across the Asia-Pacific region, and welcome colleagues from every part of the world.
In addition to the main Scientific Program, two satellite meetings will provide opportunities for more focused and practical education in rapidly developing areas of laboratory medicine. One will be dedicated to Point-of-Care Testing (POCT), while the second, entitled “Building Your First AI Model: A Practical Session,” will offer a hands-on introduction to one of the technologies increasingly shaping the future of our profession.
The Congress will also provide an important opportunity for interaction between the laboratory medicine community and the in vitro diagnostics (IVD) industry. The IVD industry will organize Educational Workshops, offering participants further opportunities to learn from experts about scientific and technological advances and their applications in laboratory medicine.
The accompanying exhibition will be another important part of the WorldLab experience. I encourage participants to explore the latest technologies and solutions, engage with our industry partners, exchange ideas, and consider how innovation can be translated responsibly into laboratory and clinical practice.
But a successful WorldLab is about much more than scientific sessions, workshops, and technological innovation.
WorldLab is about people.
It is about meeting colleagues from different countries and cultures. It is about reconnecting with old friends, welcoming new members of our professional community, supporting young scientists and laboratory professionals, exchanging experiences, and establishing friendships and collaborations that may continue for many years.
In an increasingly digital world, the value of meeting face-to-face should not be underestimated. We can exchange data, publications, presentations, and scientific information electronically, but trust, friendship, inspiration, and the spontaneous exchange of ideas that emerge from personal interaction are much more difficult to reproduce virtually.
I would particularly like to emphasize the importance of our young scientists and early-career professionals. They represent the future of laboratory medicine. Their curiosity, creativity, technological expertise, and willingness to explore new approaches will be essential as our profession continues to evolve.
A very special event will therefore be the 5th IFCC Forum for Young Scientists, to be held on 25 October 2026 in New Delhi. The Forum will bring together young scientists from around the world and provide opportunities for scientific and professional development, exchange of experiences and ideas, networking, and interaction with colleagues and experienced leaders in laboratory medicine.
WorldLab itself will provide an excellent environment for young colleagues to learn from established experts, present their research, develop international networks, and become active members and future leaders of our global professional community.
As IFCC President, I am particularly proud of the international community that WorldLab represents.
Our diversity is one of our greatest strengths.
By bringing together different perspectives, scientific expertise, professional experiences, and healthcare realities, we can learn from one another and develop solutions that are scientifically rigorous, clinically meaningful, and relevant to healthcare systems around the world.
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to IFCC leadership and committees, ACBI, the Congress Organizing Committee, the Scientific Program Committee, speakers, session chairs, volunteers, sponsors, industry partners, and everyone contributing to the preparation of WorldLab New Delhi 2026. Organizing a major international scientific congress requires vision, commitment, teamwork, and many months of dedicated work.

On behalf of the Congress Organizing Committee and the host society, the Association of Clinical Biochemists of India (ACBI), I am pleased to invite you to attend the IFCC WorldLab 2026 at “Yashobhumi”, our state-of-the-art convention center in Dwarka, New Delhi. The event will be held from October 25th to 29th, 2026.
Our scientific program, curated by eminent members of the scientific committee, will offer an exciting and informative program on the cutting edge of the science of laboratory medicine. We aim to present exemplary science that will be of interest to all attendees, allowing them to update their knowledge on recent developments and advances, share expertise and experience, as well as discuss problems in their field of practice. The program will feature various parallel sessions covering a wide variety of topics, enabling attendees to tailor the program to their own interests and clinical practice, along with information-packed Pre-Congress Workshops.
The congress is being held at ‘YASHOBHUMI’ Convention & Congress Centre in Sector 25, Dwarka, inaugurated by the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, in 2023. It is easily accessible from the international airport, with over 5000 hotel rooms available within a 5-7 km radius.

Apart from the scientific feast we’re carefully tailor-making, India has a lot more to offer for her guests. The famous English poet and writer, Mark Twain once remarked, “India is the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great-grandmother of tradition.”
The venue of the conference is “Yashobhoomi”, Dwarka, New Delhi; the largest convention center in India/Asia, with a capacity of 11,000, and among the world’ largest MICE facilities. There are hotel facilities to cater to the needs of all delegates in the vicinity of the convention center itself.
