On behalf of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC), and in my capacity as IFCC President and Congress President and Co-Chair, it is my pleasure and great honor to warmly invite you to attend the 27th International Congress of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine – IFCC WorldLab New Delhi 2026, to be held from 25–29 October 2026 in New Delhi, India.
This prestigious international event, jointly organized by the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) and the Asia and Pacific Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (APFCB), is proudly hosted by the Association of Clinical Biochemists of India (ACBI).
WorldLab New Delhi 2026, to be held at the India International Convention & Expo Centre in Dwarka, New Delhi, will provide an exceptional setting for this important gathering of laboratory medicine professionals from around the world.
WorldLab has a long and distinguished tradition within our profession. It brings together clinical chemists, laboratory medicine specialists, scientists, physicians, healthcare professionals, educators, researchers, industry partners, young scientists, and colleagues from different regions, disciplines, and generations to share scientific knowledge, exchange experiences, discuss challenges, and build collaborations that extend far beyond the Congress itself.
The Scientific Program has been designed to reflect the rapidly evolving landscape of laboratory medicine. It brings together established scientific principles, emerging technologies, translational research, and new approaches to diagnostics and patient care.
During the Congress, we will have the opportunity to explore developments across clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine, including automation and digitalization, artificial intelligence, molecular diagnostics, genomics and other omics technologies, advanced biomarkers, point-of-care testing, precision medicine, and many other areas at the forefront of modern healthcare.
Laboratory medicine is undergoing an extraordinary transformation.
New technologies are expanding our capabilities and changing not only what laboratories can do, but also how laboratory information contributes to clinical decision-making. Innovation, however, must always remain focused on clinical value, quality, patient safety, and better patient care. This is also where the importance of international collaboration becomes increasingly clear.
The IFCC brings together laboratory medicine professionals and national societies from around the globe with a shared mission: to advance excellence in laboratory medicine for better healthcare worldwide.
Through education, scientific activities, standardization and harmonization, professional development, support for young scientists, and collaboration among our Member Societies, Corporate Members, and Regional Federations, IFCC works to strengthen laboratory medicine internationally and to ensure that scientific progress ultimately benefits patients everywhere.
I am therefore particularly pleased that ACBI is hosting WorldLab 2026 in New Delhi. This Congress provides an exceptional opportunity to highlight the scientific excellence of Indian laboratory medicine, strengthen connections across the Asia-Pacific region, and welcome colleagues from every part of the world.
In addition to the main Scientific Program, two satellite meetings will provide opportunities for more focused and practical education in rapidly developing areas of laboratory medicine. One will be dedicated to Point-of-Care Testing (POCT), while the second, entitled “Building Your First AI Model: A Practical Session,” will offer a hands-on introduction to one of the technologies increasingly shaping the future of our profession.
The Congress will also provide an important opportunity for interaction between the laboratory medicine community and the in vitro diagnostics (IVD) industry. The IVD industry will organize Educational Workshops, offering participants further opportunities to learn from experts about scientific and technological advances and their applications in laboratory medicine.
The accompanying exhibition will be another important part of the WorldLab experience. I encourage participants to explore the latest technologies and solutions, engage with our industry partners, exchange ideas, and consider how innovation can be translated responsibly into laboratory and clinical practice.
But a successful WorldLab is about much more than scientific sessions, workshops, and technological innovation.
WorldLab is about people.
It is about meeting colleagues from different countries and cultures. It is about reconnecting with old friends, welcoming new members of our professional community, supporting young scientists and laboratory professionals, exchanging experiences, and establishing friendships and collaborations that may continue for many years.
In an increasingly digital world, the value of meeting face-to-face should not be underestimated. We can exchange data, publications, presentations, and scientific information electronically, but trust, friendship, inspiration, and the spontaneous exchange of ideas that emerge from personal interaction are much more difficult to reproduce virtually.
I would particularly like to emphasize the importance of our young scientists and early-career professionals. They represent the future of laboratory medicine. Their curiosity, creativity, technological expertise, and willingness to explore new approaches will be essential as our profession continues to evolve.
A very special event will therefore be the 5th IFCC Forum for Young Scientists, to be held on 25 October 2026 in New Delhi. The Forum will bring together young scientists from around the world and provide opportunities for scientific and professional development, exchange of experiences and ideas, networking, and interaction with colleagues and experienced leaders in laboratory medicine.
WorldLab itself will provide an excellent environment for young colleagues to learn from established experts, present their research, develop international networks, and become active members and future leaders of our global professional community.
As IFCC President, I am particularly proud of the international community that WorldLab represents.
Our diversity is one of our greatest strengths.
By bringing together different perspectives, scientific expertise, professional experiences, and healthcare realities, we can learn from one another and develop solutions that are scientifically rigorous, clinically meaningful, and relevant to healthcare systems around the world.
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to IFCC leadership and committees, ACBI, the Congress Organizing Committee, the Scientific Program Committee, speakers, session chairs, volunteers, sponsors, industry partners, and everyone contributing to the preparation of WorldLab New Delhi 2026. Organizing a major international scientific congress requires vision, commitment, teamwork, and many months of dedicated work.

On behalf of the Congress Organizing Committee and the Association of Clinical Biochemists of India (ACBI), I extend my heartfelt greetings to all our distinguished guests, colleagues, scientists, clinicians, researchers, young professionals, industry partners, and friends who have travelled from across India and around the world to be with us for this momentous occasion.
From 25–29 October 2026, YASHOBHUMI, Dwarka, New Delhi, will become a meeting place for the minds and ideas that are shaping the future of laboratory medicine. WorldLab is, at its heart, a celebration of science—but it is also a celebration of people. It brings together diverse experiences, perspectives, cultures, and expertise with one common purpose: to advance laboratory medicine and, through it, improve patient care and healthcare worldwide.
With a rich array of parallel sessions and focused Pre-Congress Workshops, we hope every participant will find something that challenges, informs, inspires, and adds value to their professional journey.

The congress offers a rich and stimulating scientific programme, featuring plenary lectures, educational workshops, satellite meetings, and poster sessions, providing opportunities to explore advances across the broad and rapidly advancing clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine.
This conference will bring together clinical laboratory scientists, researchers, clinicians, IVD professionals, industry partners, and other healthcare stakeholders from around the world. Beyond sharing the latest scientific knowledge and emerging technologies, it will provide a unique forum to exchange ideas, discuss challenges, and build meaningful collaborations across countries, disciplines, and subspecialties.

The meeting itself offers many activities that are highly relevant to you, no matter where you are in your career. The Plenaries, symposia and workshops cover cutting-edge laboratory medicine, revisit areas of our science where improvements to practice will be discussed, highlight areas of significance for LMIC, and showcase the latest in specialised laboratory equipment.

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to IFCC WorldLab New Delhi 2026, the 27th International Congress of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine.
As Co-Chair of the Scientific Program Committee, I am particularly delighted to see the scientific programme, developed through many months of discussion, planning, and collaboration, finally come to life.
While preparing the programme, our objective was not simply to bring together a large number of scientific presentations. We wanted to create an intellectually stimulating platform that would encourage learning, discussion, exchange of ideas, and collaboration, while reflecting both the current state and the future direction of laboratory medicine.
Laboratory medicine is evolving at an extraordinary pace. Advances in artificial intelligence, automation, digital technologies, molecular diagnostics, genomics and other omics sciences, advanced biomarkers, point-of-care testing, precision medicine, and data-driven healthcare are opening new possibilities for diagnosis and patient management. The scientific programme therefore brings together a broad range of subjects covering established areas of clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine, as well as emerging technologies and concepts that are likely to influence our profession in the years ahead.
However, scientific and technological innovation should not be viewed simply in terms of what is new. The more important questions are: Does it provide clinically useful information? Can it improve patient care? How should it be validated? Can its quality and reliability be assured? How should laboratory professionals interpret and communicate the results? And how can it be implemented responsibly in different healthcare settings? I hope these questions will be reflected throughout the scientific discussions at WorldLab New Delhi.
The diversity of laboratory medicine today makes it increasingly difficult for any individual to remain familiar with every developing field. This makes an international Congress particularly valuable. I encourage all participants to look beyond their usual areas of specialization. Attend a session on a topic that may be outside your immediate field. Listen to colleagues working in different disciplines and healthcare systems. Explore new approaches and technologies. Some of the most valuable outcomes of a Congress are often unexpected—a new idea, a different perspective, a research collaboration, or a solution to a problem that you have been trying to address in your own laboratory.
A successful scientific meeting is not simply a sequence of lectures. The real value of a presentation often emerges through the questions that follow it, the discussion among participants, and the conversations that continue after the session. I therefore encourage you to participate actively in the programme. Ask questions, share your experiences, challenge ideas constructively, and engage with the speakers and other participants. Our profession advances not only through discoveries, but also through open scientific discussion and the willingness to learn from one another.
A special place in the scientific programme has been given to young scientists and early-career professionals. They bring fresh ideas, new approaches, technological skills, and a natural willingness to question established practices. Their participation is essential to the continuing development of laboratory medicine. The 5th IFCC Forum for Young Scientists, together with the many scientific sessions and other activities during the Congress, will provide opportunities for young colleagues to present their work, interact with internationally recognised experts, develop professional networks, and explore future collaborations.
I would also encourage experienced colleagues to engage actively with younger participants. Sharing experience, providing mentorship, and encouraging new scientific thinking are important ways in which we can strengthen the future of our profession.
Developing a scientific programme of this scale is a collective effort. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all members of the Scientific Program Committee for their thoughtful contributions, discussions, and commitment. My gratitude also goes to all the invited speakers, session chairs, moderators, abstract reviewers, and scientific contributors who have generously shared their time and expertise. I also acknowledge the support of IFCC, APFCB, ACBI, the Congress Organizing Committee, and the professional teams who have worked continuously behind the scenes to bring the programme together.
Ultimately, a scientific programme becomes meaningful through the participation of its delegates.
